Fees
Fairshare Fee
Apologies for the confusion over outdated information on this page. Everything has now been updated for 2026-27.
Overview
Fairshare is every parent’s responsibility when their child joins band. This fee covers a portion of the cost it takes to operate a successful band program. Fairshare covers things like equipment/maintenance, staff payments, dry-cleaning, extra food for hungry students, marching shoes, band camp operations and much more. We offer a one time payment or a payment plan. You can make checks payable to: Bulldog Music Boosters or pay online below.
2026-27 Faireshare fee totals:
Color Guard: $350
(this is the total for Guard, all fees are included in this amount)
Marching Band Veteran: $200
(returning students with shoes)
Marching Band Recruit: $250
(new students who need to purchase shoes)
Specifics
SHOES
We used different shoes for marching last year, If you were here last year (and your shoes still fit / are in decent condition), you’re all set. If you’re new, add $50 to your Fairshare fee.
Band Polos
We now have Band Polos. If you already have one that still fits, you’re all set. If you’re new (or a new size), you will need to purchase a polo to wear to concerts and other events.

IMPORTANT: if you are experiencing hardship, we have options to make the Fairshare fee work for everyone. While no student has ever been denied participation in the IBHS Music Department due to financial circumstances, we do ask that you contact the Director (Mr. Grubb) to discuss your options.
It’s not always easy to talk about but being proactive by making arrangements before we get too far into the season helps everything run much smoother for everyone.
