IBHS Music Program Handbook
Attendance Expectations:
- Each member is to be ready and in the appropriate rehearsal attire before call time. (Athletic shorts, Shirt, Socks, Shoes) (No Crocs, Flip-Flops, Pants/Jeans, etc.)
- To participate in any music program sponsored activity, the student must have attended at least half of the school day on the day of the activity.
- If a member misses ANY practice, it will be up to the coach’s discretion as to whether the student will perform for that week’s performance. The band member will still be required to attend the performance. All members must attend each activity in its entirety.
- All appointments should be scheduled so they do not interfere with band activities.
- Members will be allotted ONE excused absence from practice without penalty.
- An unexcused absence from school will result in an unexcused absence from the band.
- All prearranged absences, tardiness, or need to leave early must be given to Mr. Grubb, 48 hours in advance.

- Each member is to come to school in uniform: Music program polo, Black pants, long black socks, spirit accessories. The only jacket members can wear to a performance is the official marching band jacket.
- Each member will be required to have all parts of the uniform, cleaned and in good condition, for every performance. (Band Boosters pay to clean the Marching band field uniforms)
- To participate in any music program sponsored activity, the student must have attended at least half of the school day on the day of the activity.
- If a member misses ANY practice, it will be up to the coach’s discretion as to whether the student will perform for that week’s performance. The band member will still be required to attend the performance. All members must attend each activity in its entirety.

Band Booster Meeting

The Bulldog Music Boosters are the only way that this program stays afloat. Without the support of the Band Boosters, we would not be able to provide the amazing resources and instruction that we do.
All funds, band staff, new equipment, meals, chaperones, trips and anything else you can think of is because of these amazing people.

- All prearranged absences, tardiness, or need to leave early must be given to Mr. Grubb, 48 hours in advance.
- All absences/tardiness must be documented in written form (from your parent, doctor, teacher, club sponsor, etc.) and given to the Mr. Grubb
An Unexcused Absence from this rehearsal will earn a student 3 demerits.
An excused Absence from this rehearsal will earn a student 1 demerits.
8 (eight) total demerits = Dismissal from the marching band. No Exceptions

Attendance Expectations:
- Each member is to be ready and in the appropriate rehearsal attire before call time. (Athletic shorts, Shirt, Socks, Shoes) (No Crocs, Flip-Flops, Pants/Jeans, etc.)
- To participate in any music program sponsored activity, the student must have attended at least half of the school day on the day of the activity.
- If a member misses ANY practice, it will be up to the coach’s discretion as to whether the student will perform for that week’s performance. The band member will still be required to attend the performance. All members must attend each activity in its entirety.
- All appointments should be scheduled so they do not interfere with band activities.
- Members will be allotted ONE excused absence from practice without penalty.

The FSW Concert Band allows Ida Baker High School students to join their ensemble and perform with them each semester at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Center on the FSW Campus. If a student is interested participating, they should reach out to Mr. Grubb.
